The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) – Romblon District Engineering Office has successfully completed the construction of Phase II of the Access Road leading to the Blue Hole Dive Site in Brgy. Cawayan, San Agustin, Romblon.
In a press release, Romblon District Engineer Elena Castilan reported to DPWH MIMAROPA Regional Director Gerald Pacanan that the project covers a total length of 0.371 km with a 0.23-m thick unreinforced Portland cement concrete pavement.
It also features reflectorized thermoplastic pavement markings in yellow and white to ensure the safety of both residents and visitors.
San Agustin’s Blue Hole, the only known Blue Hole in the Philippines, is a renowned dive site frequently visited by both local and international tourists.
The newly completed road project enhances accessibility, supports local livelihoods, and boosts the region’s economy.
