Prepared for the future
Her educational background with a Master’s in Public Administration at Princeton University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology at the University of the Philippines, and a licensed environmental planner are reasons why she loves nature and advocates the protection of the environment.
With her participation in various both local and international trainings, with vast experiences in public service and politics, first as staff of the former Congressman Eduardo “Lolong” Firmalo in 2004 to 2007, Chief of Staff of the former Governor Eduardo “Lolong” Firmalo in 2010 to 2016 and now as a three termer Mayor of Odiongan and Dangal ng Bayan Awardee has resulted in multi awards received by the Municipality of Odiongan and at present continues to receive more awards, leading to the new classification as one of the new first-class municipality in the MIMAROPA Region and in the entire country. This first-class category attracts an influx of investors to the municipality.
With a name in politics, with love and passion for her constituents, and a resemblance with celebrities like actress-singer Julie Ann San Jose and Gabbi Garcia, the potential of Mayor Trina as fondly called by people attracts individuals from different walks of life to take pictures with her where ever she goes.
Her great concern for the PWD, the elderly, and ordinary people who can approach her even in the street and in the rice field, for any concern or problem call her champion of the masses. Her initiative of working for the welfare of women groups resulted in the approval of a municipal ordinance creating the Local Council of Women in Odiongan which is the first municipality to make such a council.
Mayor Trina, a leader focused on progress and development will end her third term as Mayor of Odiongan, just recently, received the award as New Kaya Natin Champion, awarded by KAYAN NATIN MOVEMENT an NGO, a movement for good leadership with integrity in the Philippines, a prestigious acknowledgment of her good governance which is at level with the likes of City Mayor Benjamin Magalong of Baguio City and Mayor Vico Sotto of Pasig city. She is a unique leader adhering to transparency and accountability in the public service amid rampant graft and corruption in many government offices but she remains with unblemished reputation and integrity.
Ever ready for the challenges
The position of Provincial Chief Executive of Romblon is a demanding job but Mayor Trina is ready to take the challenge. Endless opportunities are just waiting to be tapped in this archipelagic 22 island and islets province of Romblon for a trusted and competent leader.
Determined to make a change and replicate the success of her style of management of “Team Serbisyong May Puso” to the whole province.
With her charisma, she is a promising great influencer for the Municipal Local Chief Executives for the development of municipalities to strive for better economic activities and sustainable development and in the end will propel and bring Romblon to a more progressive province in the years to come.
