The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has published its 2024 Noche Buena Price Guide, highlighting that prices of many staple holiday products have remained stable compared to 2023, with some items experiencing reductions.
Mary Grace Fontelo of DTI Romblon shared during Kapihan sa PIA Romblon that almost all listed items, including holiday favorites like ham, queso de bola, fruit cocktail, cheese, sandwich spread, and all-purpose cream, have either retained their previous year’s prices or dropped further.
The guide reveals that 121 items, covering ham, fruit cocktail, queso de bola, sandwich spread, cheese, spaghetti sauce, tomato sauce, and all-purpose cream, have stable prices. Meanwhile, 13 products, such as certain brands of mayonnaise, pasta, elbow macaroni, salad macaroni, and all-purpose cream, saw price reductions.
For 2024, the prices of ham range from PHP170 to PHP928.50, queso de bola from PHP210 to PHP445, fruit cocktail from PHP61.76 to PHP302.50, and cheese from PHP56.50 to PHP310. Mayonnaise is priced between PHP20.40 and PHP245.85, all-purpose cream from PHP36.50 to PHP72, and sandwich spread from PHP27 to PHP263.60.
Pasta or spaghetti costs between PHP32 and PHP114, elbow macaroni from PHP30.50 to PHP126.25, tomato sauce from PHP16.50 to PHP92.85, salad macaroni from PHP36.50 to PHP126.25, and spaghetti sauce from PHP28.50 to PHP103.
The DTI emphasized that the price guide ensures consumers can access a broad range of options for their holiday preparations, making celebrations more affordable.
The listed prices will remain in effect until December 31, providing consistency through the Media Noche festivities.
