A total of 344 beneficiaries from Odiongan and neighboring towns participated in the first batch of the free Theoretical Driving Course (TDC) for the fourth quarter of the year, held at the Odiongan Covered Court.
According to the Odiongan Public Information Office, the program, launched by Odiongan Mayor Trina Firmalo-Fabic in partnership with ISIAH Diagnostic Laboratory and the Land Transportation Office (LTO) – Romblon, aims to address pressing road safety issues in town.
Many motorists still avoid checkpoints due to the lack of a driver’s license, and numerous students drive without adequate knowledge of proper road regulations and responsible driving practices.
In an earlier statement, LTO Romblon Chief Jocelyn Rillo said that these initiatives seek to increase the number of licensed drivers and educate the public on road discipline. Through this program, the local government and LTO aim to reduce accidents and improve overall safety on the roads.
