Congressman Eleandro Madrona officially joined the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary (PCGA) as an Auxiliary Commodore during his birthday celebration on Monday, December 16, held at Barangay Bachawan, San Agustin, Romblon.
The donning and oath-taking ceremony was attended by key Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) officials, including PCG Commandant Admiral Ronnie Gil Gavan, PCG Commodore Algier Ricafrente, PCG Commodore Geronimo Tuvilla, and PCGA Rear Admiral Mark Llandro Mendoza.
In addition to Congressman Madrona, 15 mayors from various towns in Romblon were also inducted as new members of the PCGA.
In his speech, Congressman Madrona expressed his gratitude to the PCG and highlighted the vital role of local government leaders in supporting the Coast Guard’s mission.
“I am very pleased that the core officers—Commanders—are all mayors of my 16 towns. From them, we expect leadership and collaboration to grow, enabling us to support our beloved PCG family in the performance of their duties,” Madrona said.
He also urged the people of Romblon to rally behind the Coast Guard Auxiliary, recognizing its crucial role as a partner in the province’s maritime development and as a shield for its progress.
