The local government unit (LGU) of Odiongan, Romblon, has once again been recognized by the MIMAROPA Regional Nutrition Council for its outstanding and effective nutrition programs, marking the third consecutive year it has received this award.
The Regional Green Banner Seal of Compliance was received by members of the Odiongan Municipal Nutrition Council, with Odiongan Mayor Trina Firmalo-Fabic being represented by Charmaine Gaa during the event.
In her acceptance speech, Gaa reaffirmed the LGU’s commitment to achieving its targets and vision, particularly in reaching out to children who are most vulnerable to nutritional deficiencies. She also highlighted the importance of learning from the best practices of neighboring provinces to further enhance their local initiatives.
Additionally, Odiongan’s Nutrition Action Officer, Nigel David, was honored as the region’s most outstanding municipal nutrition action officer, reflecting the strength of leadership and the dedicated work being done in the town to improve health and nutrition outcomes.
