Seven Sustainable Livelihood Program Associations (SLPA) comprising 177 beneficiaries from Odiongan, Romblon, recently received a total of P2,760,000.00 in seed capital fund (SCF) from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) MIMAROPA.
The funds are intended to support various livelihood projects aimed at improving the economic conditions of the recipients.
The BUGANA SLPA, consisting of 21 members, was awarded P420,000.00 to support their poultry-raising project. In addition, six other SLPAs under the Zero Hunger program collectively received P2,340,000.00 for their projects, which include poultry raising, farming, and the operation of a commodity store.
The distribution of the seed capital was led by DSWD MIMAROPA OIC-Assistant Regional Director for Operations Sheila Tapia.
In a statement, the DSWD encouraged the beneficiaries to use the funds prudently to grow their businesses and elevate their living standards through sustainable livelihood activities.
