The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) distributed financial assistance to 411 beneficiaries in Concepcion, Romblon. The distribution took place from August 6-9, 2024, as part of President Bongbong Marcos Jr’s Presidential Assistance to Farmers, Fisherfolk, and Families (PAFFF) program.
Each beneficiary received PHP 10,000 under the Ayuda sa Kapos ang Kita (AKAP) program, a component of PAFFF designed to provide immediate financial relief to those struggling with low income.
The disbursement was led by the DSWD Social Welfare and Development Team (SWADT) in Romblon, who ensured that the aid reached those who had been validated and assessed as eligible for the program.
The AKAP program is part of a broader government effort to mitigate the economic challenges caused by El Niño faced by the agricultural and fishing sectors, especially in areas like Concepcion where livelihoods are heavily dependent on these industries.
This financial assistance is expected to help beneficiaries address their immediate needs and support their ongoing economic activities.
In July 2024, high-ranking officials from the Department of the Interior and Local Government, the Department of Social Welfare and Development, and the Department of Agriculture spearheaded the distribution of financial aid to beneficiaries of the PAFFF program across several towns in Romblon.
