More than 300 job applicants from various towns in Romblon attended the “World Cafe of Opportunities” (WCO) held at the Odiongan Covered Court on Thursday, August 8.
The event, organized by the Romblon National Institute of Technology (RNIT), was part of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority’s (TESDA) 30th-anniversary celebration.
According to Anna Christina Martinez, RNIT administrator, two applicants were hired on the spot by local companies during the event.
Martinez also highlighted during the Kapihan sa PIA Romblon that at least four employers were actively recruiting for both local and overseas jobs.
The event also featured participation from various national government agencies offering essential documents for job seekers, including the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), Social Security System (SSS), Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), and the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).
WCO served as a one-stop shop where government agencies, private companies, and technical-vocational educational institutions (TVET) came together to provide a range of services. These included employment opportunities, training, competency assessments, and financial assistance for graduates and alumni.
