Starting next month, the Tablas Island Electric Cooperative (TIELCO) will begin removing cables attached to their electric poles without proper authorization.
In a Facebook post, TIELCO management stated that their technical team discovered numerous individuals using TIELCO poles to support internet lines and CCTV apparatus without the required permission or Pole Use Contracts.
The Pole Use Contract outlines the proper guidelines for attaching cables and apparatus to power lines to prevent accidents, especially for linemen who work on the poles daily.
TIELCO also emphasized that attaching signage to the poles aside from cables is strictly prohibited.
They urged private offices and individuals to coordinate with their office to arrange the necessary contracts.
“After fifteen (15) days from this notice, and if we receive no communication from you, all illegally connected communication lines and CCTV apparatus will be removed from TIELCO poles,” TIELCO warned.
