The reopening of public schools in Romblon on Monday for the academic year 2024-2025 was generally peaceful, according to the Romblon Police Provincial Office.
Provincial Director Col. Rexton Sawi reported that the return of students to school went smoothly, thanks to the collaboration between the police and the Department of Education – Romblon.
A total of 234 police officers were deployed to various schools, with 100 stationed at assistance desks to provide support.
“Our primary goal is to create a safe and secure environment for our students as they return to school. Through Oplan Balik Eskwela 2024, we are committed to working closely with our partners and the community to ensure that this school year starts smoothly and securely,” Sawi stated.
The PNP also urged all community members to support these efforts by being proactive and adhering to safety guidelines to create a positive and safe learning environment for children.
