The KADBAYAN Multi-Purpose Cooperative officially turned over the first Timbangan it Banwa to the local government unit of Odiongan on Thursday, demonstrating their social commitment to the community.
Timbangan it Banwa is an animal weighing facility consisting of a weighing shed and a digital weighing scale. This facility is designed to assist animal raisers by providing accurate weights and fair pricing when marketing their animals.
Jun Fiedacan, a consultant to the Mayor’s office, stated that this marks the initial phase of establishing an Auction Market for animals in Odiongan in the coming years.
Mayor Trina Firmalo Fabic, accompanied by the vice mayor and members of the Sangguniang Bayan, accepted the facility and pledged their support for the project.
Once operational, all hogs destined for slaughter at the slaughterhouse will be weighed using this scale to ensure accurate weights and fair buying prices for animal raisers. The documents issued by the facility will be required for entry into the slaughterhouse.
“This will surely receive a positive response from the community as their animals will be weighed correctly, leading to more profits from the sale of animals,” Fiedacan remarked.
