The Romblon Police Provincial Office recently received body cameras to be used by police officers for documenting their operations.
These body cameras, worth P1.9 million according to Romblon PNP, along with other IT equipment, were donated by Congressman Eleandro Madrona, who also attended the turnover ceremony held at the headquarters of the Romblon Provincial Mobile Force Company in Odiongan on May 28.
Congressman Madrona was accompanied by PBGen Roger Quesada, the regional director of the Police Regional Office Mimaropa.
The event was also attended by officials from the Romblon Police Provincial Office and mayors from various towns in Tablas.
This initiative aligns with the 2021 Supreme Court guidelines on the utilization of body cameras, which require law enforcers to wear them when serving warrants. These guidelines aim to ensure transparency and accountability during police operations.
