The Regional Development Council (RDC) MIMAROPA has endorsed 1,049 proposed programs and projects (PAPs) worth ₱147.14 billion for FY 2025 during the 85th RDC Full Council meeting last March 1, 2024 in Quezon City.
The bulk or 44 percent of the endorsed PAPs amounting to ₱64.09 billion fall under the infrastructure development sector. This was followed by the social development sector with ₱48.07 billion, the economic development sector with ₱27.04 billion, and the development administration sector with ₱7.95 billion worth of proposed PAPs.
“Review and endorsement of these proposals ensure alignment of the region’s programs and projects with the priority thrusts and objectives stipulated in the MIMAROPA Regional Development Plan 2023-2028,” RDC Chairperson and Romblon Governor Jose R. Riano said.
Meanwhile, the Council organized the Regional Population and Development Coordinating Committee (RPDCC) as a special committee under RDC MIMAROPA. The RPDCC will serve as a venue where regional and local population implementers may deliberate and decide on mechanisms to facilitate smooth implementation of the Philippine Population and Development Plan of Action 2023-2028 in the region.
To ensure the effective participation of youth in the promotion and preservation of culture, the National Youth Commission and the six MIMAROPA state universities and colleges were included in the composition of RDC MIMAROPA Special Committee on Culture. (PR)
