The Land Transportation Office (LTO) – Romblon has revealed plans for the establishment of its extension office in San Agustin, as confirmed during a recent radio interview.
According to Jocelyn Rillo, head of LTO Romblon, the local government unit of San Agustin has offered them a building and is currently procuring equipment for the extension office in the town.
Rillo added that Mayor Denon Madrona emphasized that the benefits of this initiative would extend beyond the residents of San Agustin, reaching neighboring islands and municipalities. LTO Central Office has already inspected the building recently for approval.
The establishment of the extension office in San Agustin is anticipated to streamline procedures for obtaining driver’s licenses (DL) and registering vehicles, making it more convenient for the community.
Services being offered in LTO Romblon’s main office in Odiongan will also be provided in the extension office including registration of driver’s license, printing of DL cards, and vehicle registration.
Rillo expressed hope of establishing additional extension offices in Sibuyan Island and Romblon, Romblon. However, budget constraints hinder this plan. She mentioned that if other LGUs could follow San Agustin’s lead in providing building and equipment support, this dream could become a reality.
Despite the current absence of extension offices in other islands, Rillo assured that LTO Romblon will continue its mobile driver’s licensing caravan, ensuring that residents of other Romblon islands have access to convenient driver’s license services.
