Nearly 6,000 driver’s license holders in Romblon have yet to receive their PVC cards from the Land Transportation Office (LTO) – Romblon District, according to LTO Chief Jocelyn Rillo, in a radio program aired last Saturday, March 23.
Rillo explained that temporary driver’s licenses continue to be issued as the district office awaits notification from the central office regarding the availability of PVC cards. The district office’s allocation is dependent on the arrival of supplies, leading to delays in distribution.
She emphasized that this issue is not unique to Romblon but is a nationwide challenge affecting LTO offices across the country.
Despite the LTO issuing only temporary driver’s licenses printed on paper, Rillo emphasized that these documents remain legal and valid for all ID-related transactions.
