In preparation for the upcoming holiday season, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has issued the Noche Buena Price Guide, providing consumers with valuable information for a well-informed and budget-friendly celebration.
DTI Secretary Fred Pascual emphasized the department’s commitment to promoting consumer rights and responsibilities, particularly during the festive season.
The guide encourages consumers to exercise their right to choose and be critically aware by comparing prices.
The Noche Buena Price Guide features tips for consumers and highlights SKUs with decreased or unchanged prices. Out of the total SKUs, 21 have seen a price decrease, while 34 maintained their prices.
The guide provides price ranges for various items, such as ham, queso de bola, fruit cocktail, cheese, mayonnaise, all-purpose cream, sandwich spread, pasta/spaghetti, elbow macaroni, tomato sauce, salad macaroni, and spaghetti sauce.
Ham prices, for instance, range from PHP169.00 to PHP898.50, while queso de bola varies from PHP210.00 to PHP445.00.
Manufacturers have committed to maintaining these prices until Media Noche this year, based on discussions between DTI officials and industry representatives.
Consumers are encouraged to be vigilant for discounts, promo deals, and giveaways to maximize the value of their holiday purchases.
The 2023 Noche Buena Price Guide is accessible on the DTI website.
