The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) is set to upgrade the Port of San Agustin in Tablas Island, Romblon this year.
Contractors D.K. Jocson Construction and S2A Builders Corp. will join to construct this P75.35 million port operational area.
The PPA is actively working on enhancing port facilities and infrastructure to meet the growing demand for sea travel among Filipino travelers. This project is just one of several in the pipeline, with PPA aiming to complete 19 additional initiatives before the year’s end.
These efforts are in addition to the initial 30 projects delivered during the first year of the Marcos administration.
PPA General Manager Jay Santiago stressed the urgency of building new ports and upgrading existing ones. He highlighted that sea travel is becoming increasingly popular among Filipino travelers, making it essential to provide modern, efficient, and reliable port facilities.
