The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in Romblon province recently undertook a price monitoring operation to assess the cost of candles in anticipation of the forthcoming All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day observances.
This initiative was part of the nationwide synchronized activity called “Undas Bantay Presyo,” spearheaded by DTI to ensure compliance with pricing regulations.
According to Grace Fontelo, the public information officer for DTI Romblon, the primary objective of this operation was to guarantee that the prices of candles and bottled water, as governed by the Price Act, remained within the acceptable range.
Various retail markets in Odiongan were visited during this monitoring effort. Fontelo reported that the majority of retailers were adhering to the suggested retail prices (SRP) set by DTI.
Furthermore, there appeared to be a sufficient supply of bottled water and candles, assuring consumers of accessibility to these essential items during the upcoming commemorations.
