The Young Farmers Challenge (YFC) Program, spearheaded by the Department of Agriculture’s Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Division (AMAD), aims to support young individuals interested in agriculture or fisheries. It encourages youth to actively engage in farming by demonstrating the potential profitability of the sector.
Each winning enterprise was carefully chosen based on their submitted business model canvass. They were awarded a grant of P80,000, which they will use as additional capital for their businesses and will compete in the regional awarding of the YFC Program.
In her message, Regional Executive Director Engr. Ma. Christine Inting expressed her gratitude to the young participants for accepting the challenge of the Young Farmers Program. She explained the program’s goal of embracing new knowledge, investing in the future, and empowering young change-makers.
Inting also challenged the youth to succeed in their agribusiness proposals to inspire the younger generation to enter agriculture.
