The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) conducted validation activities today for the towns of Odiongan and San Agustin in Romblon, as part of the assessment process for the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) award at the national level.
Validation for other towns that successfully passed the regional evaluation by the DILG will be carried out in the coming days.
The DILG shortlisted several municipalities in the Mimaropa region, including Odiongan, San Agustin, Banton, Looc, Alcantara, San Fernando, and Santa Maria in Romblon; along with Sablayan in Occidental Mindoro, as candidates for the SGLG.
The SGLG award is a recognition of local government units (LGUs) that have demonstrated excellence and integrity in delivering public services and governance. LGUs that receive the SGLG have showcased their commitment to good governance and efficient service delivery, contributing to the overall development of their communities.
According to the DILG. the validation process is a crucial step in determining the final recipients of the SGLG award at the national level. It ensures that only deserving LGUs are recognized for their outstanding performance in upholding the principles of good governance and providing quality public service to their constituents.
