A councilor of Odiongan, Romblon has proposed an ordinance that focuses on the digitalization of Tricycle Operators and Drivers Association (TODA) activities in the municipality.
During a recent session at the Odiongan Sangguniang Bayan, Councilor Manuel Fernandez Jr. passed the ordinance in its first reading.
The initiative aims to leverage technology to modernize and improve the overall functioning of the TODA, which plays a crucial role in providing public transportation services within the community.
One of the key elements of the proposed plan is the adoption or creation of a mobile application that the public can use to book tricycles, especially during nighttime when there is limited availability.
Additionally, the proposed ordinance emphasizes transparency by implementing a system that provides customers with clear information on fares and payment methods. This initiative aims to promote trust and accountability between tricycle operators and passengers.
The proposal received support from fellow council members, including Vice Mayor Diven Dimaala, who expressed commitment to the development of the mobile application back in July 2022.
