The town of Odiongan kicked off the regional celebration of Adoption and Alternative Child Care Week 2023.
This year’s celebration carries the theme, “#EveryChildMatters: A New Era in Adoption and Alternative Child Care,” and aims to extend the advocacy and promotion of legal adoption and alternative child care methods in the province.
Various organizations and individuals joined the occasion, including the Regional Alternative Child Care Office – MIMAROPA, Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office, Ruel Foundation – Odiongan, Odiongan Biker’s Club, PNP Highway Patrol Group, BFP Odiongan Fire Station, MDRRMO Odiongan, and numerous volunteers.
Highlighting the activity was the “BISIG-KLETA: padyak para sa bata, pagsulong ng legal na pag-aampon”. Participants engaged in a meaningful bike ride, symbolizing their commitment to advancing legal adoption practices and ensuring the welfare of every child.
The regional celebration serves as a platform to raise awareness about the significance of adoption and alternative child care.
It promotes the rights of every child to a loving and nurturing environment, emphasizing their well-being and development.
Throughout the week, other activities related to the observation will be conducted including conferences about adoption and alternative child care.
