The MIMAROPA Regional Project Monitoring Committee (RPMC) held its first quarter meeting through Zoom video conference on February 17, 2023. Presided over by Regional Director Agustin C. Mendoza of the NEDA Regional Office (NRO) in MIMAROPA, the meeting tackled new projects in the region such as the Innovation Grant projects in Banton, Romblon, and Puerto Princesa City; and the Smart Campus projects of Marinduque State College and Romblon State University
During the meeting, Ms. Camille Rivera-Argana of the Innovation Staff, NEDA Central Office provided an overview of the Innovation Grant, which included the monitoring and reporting procedures for projects funded under the 2022 Innovation Grants. The grant beneficiaries presented the details and salient features of the Innovation Grant-funded projects in MIMAROPA.
Mr. Argie Festin of the Municipality of Banton presented the Water Collection System with Treatment Facility at Brgys. Yabawon and Tan-Ag, while Mr. Carlos Castillo of the Puerto Princesa City Planning and Development Office presented the Information System on Transport Operation in Puerto Princesa (ISTOPP).
Atty. Cris Jandusay presented the Marinduque State College Smart Campus Project (MSC), starting with the MSC Smart Campus Roadmap, followed by its salient features and status. The project is expected to be completed by December 2023.
Dr. Tomas T. Faminal, Vice-President for Administration and Finance of Romblon State University (RSU), presented the status and salient features of RSU Smart Campus project. His presentation started with the Smart Campus Roadmap and the completed milestones of the project. The project currently has a physical accomplishment of 85 percent and a disbursement rate of 55 percent.
The meeting also discussed the status of ongoing major infrastructure development projects in the region, CY 2022 fourth Quarter RPMES Report, Coron field monitoring visit report, Provincial/City Local Project Monitoring Committee’s functionality report, RPMC 2023 Work Program and Monitoring Plan, and the RPMC CY 2022 Accomplishment Report and Summary of Attendance.
