The towns of San Fernando and San Agustin in Romblon province were the only two local government unit awarded with Gawad Kalasag Seal of Excellence this year.
The award was given during the 22nd Gawad KALASAG National Awarding at the Manila Hotel, Ermita Manila.

San Fernando Public Information Office on a facebook post said that Mayor Nanette Tansingco together with MDRRMO Harlie Relox received the award.
The Gawad KALASAG (KAlamidad at Sakuna LAbanan SAriling Galing ang Kaligtasan) award is given to individuals, non-government organizations, private sector and government organizations, in recognition of their initiative in helping the Filipino government uplift the standard of disaster management in the country.
