The SM Foundation donated medical supplies to Romblon frontliners battling against the imminent threat of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in the province.
The donations were received on Wednesday, April 22, 2020 by Congressman Budoy Madrona, Governor Otik Riano, municipal mayors, Romblon Provincial Hospital (RPH) officials and Municipal Health Units (MHU) Association officers.
Donations include 3,120 raincoats; 5,000 surgical masks; 100 Kn95 masks; 500 nitrile gloves; 60 gallons alcohol; 300 pairs shoe covers; and 96 hygiene kits.
The distribution of the donated supplies to government hospitals in the province as well as to the 17 other MHUs in the islands was facilitated by RPH.
On behalf of the medical frontliners, RPH expressed on its Facebook page its sincere gratitude and thanks to the SM Foundation.
The said donations were made possible through the efforts of former Department of Agriculture Secretary, Atty. Bernie F. Fondevilla, whose team on the ground helped coordinate their turn-over to proper authorities.
