The Department of Labor and Employment in Romblon province released a total amount of 1, 745,502 pesos livelihood grants to the local government units of Alcantara in Tablas Island and Cajidiocan in Sibuyan Island on January 14-16, 2020, as accredited co-partners for National High School and Lumbang East National High School, respectively.
The said amount will be given to Alcantara National High School and Lumbang East National High Schools’ Parents and Teachers Associations for their school canteen and catering services management.
Lumbang East National High School PTA President Melchora Redito said that these amount will help not only help their association but also to Kto12 students of their school who are being trained to Technical- Vocational- Livelihood (TVL) tracks strands like Bread and Pastry NC II, Cookery NC II, Food and Beverage NC II and Food processing specializations.
She thanked the Department of Labor and Employment because there children will not go outside the campus just to undergo training.
“We are grateful that our children do not have to go to private establishments for training. Immersing themselves in a faraway place cost us a lot. Except for that, parents will have the opportunity to make a living through these catering services and our income will be a great thing for our children,” Redito said.
