The local government of Odiongan in partnership with the Department of Tourism (DOT) – MIMAROPA Regional Office, unveiled its new municipal logo and tagline last Thursday, October 10, 2019 at the Odiongan Children’s Park and Paradise.
In an interview with Mary Jude Gabat, tourism officer of Odiongan, she explained that the new proposed logo crafted by Clinton Solidum will be submitted to the National Historical Commission and to the Office of the President of the Philippines for their approval.
The proposed logo has an old gold border that symbolized eternity, transparency, and good governance. It also contain a big red ‘Odiong’, an Asi language word of arrow, where the name of the town came from.
It also carry other symbols like cannons, fort, municipal building, lighthouse, farmer, fisherman, helmet shell horn, pottery products, and boats,
The local government also unveiled its new tagline, “Vibrant Odiongan: Your Heart, Your Home, Your Future”.
Meanwhile, Regional Director of DOT-MIMAROPA Danilo Intong, who witnessed the presentation, said that the proposed logo and tagline will further boost the tourism activity of the town and of the province.
Municipal officials of the town lead by Odiongan mayor Trina Firmalo-Fabic are also present during the event.
