The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) in coordination with the Association of Philippine Electric Cooperatives (APEC) and Tablas Island Electric Cooperative (TIELCO), has granted financial assistance to 110 displaced/disadvantaged workers in the six barangays of Odiongan, Romblon as beneficiaries of the DOLE’s Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Displaced/ Disadvantaged Workers Program (TUPAD).
Six Barangay’s of said municipality were allotted with 110 beneficiaries who will be given financial assistance equivalent to DOLE-approved minimum wage in MIMAROPA Region.
Barangay Captains of each Barangay led the distribution of the 1st five days work payout on Monday, May 04, 2020 at their respective Barangay Halls of the recipient MCO’s.
TUPAD or Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Displaced/ Disadvantaged Workers Program is a program of DOLE labeled as hashtag #BARANGAY KO, BAHAY KO Disinfection/Sanitation Project which provide emergency employment for displaced and/or disadvantaged workers.
The beneficiaries will work for 4 hours for a period of 10 days of community work such as but not limited to disinfection of their respective houses and common public streets, public building such as health center, public park, street sweeping and cleaning of clogged canals within the vicinity of their barangay.
TIELCO ISD Manager Dennis L. Alag, attended the 2nd five days work payout to the beneficiaries of the six barangays in TIELCO Main Office today May 19, 2020.
In his message during the actual distribution, he mentioned that “APEC partylist has made its effort in providing financial assistance thru the DOLE-TUPAD Program to our displaced/disadvantaged workers in six selected Barangay’s in the municipality of Odiongan.
