Police in Mimaropa arrested a wanted person for the crime of murder with an illegal firearm and ammunition in Roxas, Oriental Mindoro on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at around 11:40 PM.
Oriental Mindoro Police Provincial Office Director, Police Colonel Samuel S Delorino, revealed that the arrested suspect, Roger Agustin Lucas, 47, was arrested in a joint law enforcement operation led by personnel of Roxas Municipal Police Station and Oriental Mindoro PPO 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company in Sitio Rambutan, Barangay Maraska, of the said locality.
Recovered from the suspect’s possession and control were one (1) unit of homemade shotgun (pugakang) loaded with two (2) pieces of live 12-gauge ammunition, and ten (10) other pieces of 12-gauge live ammunition.
Lucas was arrested by virtue of a warrant of arrest (WOA) dated December 11, 2014, issued by the Regional Trial Court in Roxàs, Oriental Mindoro, for the crime of murder with no bail recommended.
The arrested accused is now under police custody and will be turned over to the issuing court as soon as possible while a separate criminal complaint in violation of R.A. 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act is being prepared for filing against him.
