Police Regional Office MIMAROPA Regional Director Police Brigadier General Sidney Sultan Hernia lauded the successful police law enforcement operation that resulted in the arrest of the region’s top 1 most wanted person in Barangay Melgar B, Naujan, Oriental Mindoro on Friday, August 19, 2022 at around 3:48 PM.
Oriental Mindoro Police Provincial Office Officer-in-Charge Police Colonel Samuel S Delorino revealed that Arben Jamiro Carpio, 42, who hails from Barangay Suqui, Calapan City, of the said province was arrested by the operatives of Naujan MPS led by Police Lieutenant Colonel Nonato P Banania, Jr., together with the elements from the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 4B; 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company and Provincial Intelligence Unit of Oriental Mindoro PPO; Regional Intelligence Division 4B; and Field Station Southern Tagalog, 3012nd Air Intelligence Security Squadron of the Philippine Air Force.
Carpio has a pending warrant of arrest issued by the Family Court, Branch 11 in Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro dated December 28, 2021 for 12 counts of Rape (RPC ART 266-A)(Sexual Assault) in relation to R.A. 7610 with a recommended bail amounting to Php200,000.00 each; and for two counts of Rape (RPC ART 266-A)(1) in relation to R.A. 7610 with no bail recommended.
The arrested accused is now under police custody for turnover to the issuing court as soon as possible.
The data from the Regional Investigation and Detection Management Division revealed that PRO MIMAROPA had already recorded 381 apprehensions of most wanted persons (MWP) since January this year; an increase by 38.54 percent as compared to the 275 MWP arrested in the same period last year.
“The arrest of the top 1 regional most wanted person is apparently another significant accomplishment of the PNP against most wanted persons. This only fuels our drive towards keeping our community safe and secured by apprehending wanted criminals in the region and bring them all to folds of justice” PBGen Hernia remarked.
