Romblon police officers helped in the construction of a place of worship in the municipality of San Agustin as part of the Philippine National Police’s BARANGAYanihan Project.
San Agustin Municipal Police Station personnel provided manpower in building the Praise and Worship Christian Fellowship House in Sitio Agtagsing in Barangay Binongaan.
The construction of the worship facility is also part of the San Agustin Municipal Police Station’s community and service-oriented policing system, which aims to establish strong ties between the local police and the community to ensure peace and order.
PNP Chief, Police General Guillermo Lorenzo T Eleazar said that in helping build the structure, the police personnel embodied the PNP’s core value of “Maka-Diyos” in affording residents a place where they could exercise their faith.
He lauded the Romblon policemen for providing the manpower for the construction of the house of worship and expressed hope that other police officers emulate their example in establishing closer and stronger ties with the community.
“Saludo ako sa mga pulis na tumulong sa pagtatayo nitong house of worship. Sana ay magsilbing inspirasyon ito sa ating kapulisan na tumulong sa anumang paraan, sa abot ng ating makakaya, kahit labas pa ito sa sinumpaan nating tungkulin,” he said.
