The local government unit of Odiongan on Friday reported that four residents who tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) died due to complications over the past week.
In an online briefer, Odiongan mayor Trina Firmalo-Fabic disclosed that the casualties are residents of Barangay Dapawan, Anahao, and Budiong.
All these four have comorbidities like diabetes and hypertension. They were immediately buried.
“Lubos po kaming nakikiramay sa kanilang pamilya na naiwan. Rest assured that we tried everthing for them. Sila po ay dinala sa ospital, at nabigyan ng medikal na atensyon,” the mayor said.
Fabic said that they are praying that the Covid-19 death toll in town will not increase anymore.
As of July 9, the municipality of Odiongan has 140 Covid-19 active cases wherein 139 of these are local cases and the rest is imported.
