The municipality of Odiongan on Sunday, March 28, recorded its first local Covid-19 (coronavirus disease 2019) case since the start of the pandemic.
Odiongan Mayor Trina Firmalo-Fabic confirmed the report to Romblon News Network on Sunday evening.
The patient is a 37-year-old health worker, a resident of Barangay Ligaya, and has no history of travel.
During Monday’s LGU’s radio program, the chief executive said that the patient underwent a routine swab testing four days ago to ensure the safety of Romblon’s frontliners and as per the released result, he tested positive.
The patient is now in isolation and is currently asymptomatic.
She added that there is a possibility of local transmission in the island of Tablas following the latest Covid-19 cases.
As of today, the province has four (4) active Covid-19 cases located in Romblon, Looc, and Odiongan.
