At least three nearby towns of Looc, Romblon are implementing stricter travel restrictions following confirmation of Looc’s first local Covid-19 case.
These towns are Odiongan, Ferrol and Alcantara.
Odiongan
In an advisory of the LGU Odiongan, they announced that starting 7AM of March 28, they are establishing control points at the southern entry points of their town to conduct health screening to travelers.
They also advised the public that children below 9 years old and adults above 60 years old including those who have immunodeficiency, comorbidities, pregnant women, and other health risks are required to stay at home except when needed.
All establishments and offices within the municipality are reminded to strictly use StaySafe PH App or taking entry information through a logbook.
The local government unit of Odiongan also advised the public to enjoined to refrain from having mass gatherings. Leisure activities and attending to events should also be canceled or postponed until the completion of the contact tracing.
Ferrol
The municipality of Ferrol also established quarantine control points in every barangay to closely monitor the travel of every individual.
Non-residents of the town are temporarily not allowed to enter until such time the contact tracing has been completely done in the aforesaid municipality.
The general public is also advised to postpone unessential activities outside the municipality.
Alcantara
Border checkpoints are also being implemented in this town by the team of the Philippine National Police.
Looc mayor Lisette Arboleda in an interview with Romblon News Network confirmed that checkpoints are placed near the Alcantara-Looc border manned by the Alcantara Municipal Police Station.
