Local government units (LGUs) in Romblon, along with taxpayers, have pledged their support for the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) Revenue District Office (RDO) 35 as it launched its 2025 tax campaign on Tuesday, February 25 in Odiongan, Romblon.
During the event, Odiongan Mayor Trina Firmalo-Fabic emphasized the importance of paying taxes, highlighting that tax revenues fund various government projects and social services in local communities.
“Taxes are not necessarily a negative thing. They can be beneficial as long as we see the results of what we contribute. That is what truly matters,” Mayor Firmalo-Fabic said.
In a message delivered by Rollie Lachica, Governor Jose Riano commended RDO 35 for surpassing its 2024 tax collection target. He noted that Romblon recorded its highest tax collection in two decades, attributing this achievement to the dedication of BIR RDO 35 personnel under the leadership of Assistant Revenue District Officer Edgardo Holman.
Representatives from LGUs and taxpayers present at the event committed to supporting the BIR’s initiatives for 2025, aiming to once again meet and exceed tax collection goals for the year.
