A powerful tornado struck Barangay Agpudlos in San Andres, Romblon, causing significant damage to several homes.
Images sent by the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) show numerous houses with roofs torn off and some completely leveled by the strong winds.
According to Jabez Gadon from the San Andres MDRRMO, eight houses were damaged, with one completely collapsed. Fortunately, no injuries were reported among the residents present in their homes during the incident.
The local government of San Andres has promised to provide aid to the families whose homes were damaged.
The tornado also toppled a power pole in the barangay, resulting in a power outage in parts of Calatrava and San Agustin. The Tablas Island Electric Cooperative said that they are replacing the fallen pole to restore electricity to the affected areas.
