The San Jose municipal government recently provided essential supplies to twenty Indigenous Peoples (IP) families residing in Sitio Batacan, Barangay Pinamihagan. The donations included water dispensers, buckets, dippers, and groceries.
According to the San Jose Public Information Office, the funds for these donations were sourced from the prize money awarded to the local government unit (LGU) for securing 1st Place in the Best Smart Community Award 2024, which was given by Department of Science and Technology – Mimaropa.
Mayor Egdon Sombilon expressed his gratitude to the DOST and all elected officials who supported the realization of this project. He assured the public of more upcoming programs and projects that the local government will implement.
Indigenous People Mandatory Representative (IPMR) Secretary Divijean Martin and IP Chieftain Dianela Vicente also conveyed their heartfelt thanks to the local government and DOST for the blessings they received through this program.
