The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) seized over P140,000 worth of illegal lumber during an anti-illegal logging operation in San Fernando, Romblon.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the PCG reported that they assisted the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) in recovering abandoned and undocumented wood in Sitio Binayaan, Barangay España.
They confiscated 528 board feet of undocumented Apitong lumber, which was subsequently turned over to the DENRO Sibuyan.
“This successful operation underscores the commitment of CGSS Cajidiocan, CGSS Magdiwang, San Fernando MPS, and DENRO Sibuyan in protecting the environment and enforcing forestry laws,” the statement read.
