The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) has officially launched the Census of Agriculture and Fisheries (CAF) survey that aims to gather crucial and needed data on the agricultural and fishery sectors.
During the 2022 CAF Press Launch with the theme “CAFarmer, CAFisher Tayo ang Bida” held on September 1, 2023, PSA Mimaropa thoroughly explained the incoming 2022 CAF survey.
“The Census of Agriculture and Fisheries is not a collection of data, it is a flare guiding our policies, plans, and programs,” according to Regional Director Leni R. Rioflorido during her welcome message.
Pointing out that the CAF survey data to be collected is a testament to unity, and collaboration between households, communities, and industries, and it brings us closer to a more comprehensive understanding of Agricultural and Fisher land escape.
In his speech, Ejay Falcon, Vice Governor of Oriental Mindoro, emphasized the significance of the clear CAF survey.
“Kayo ay katuwang namin para itaas ang antas ng buhay ng mga magsasaka at mangingisda,” according to Falcon.
The CAF survey, with the enumeration period of September 4 – October 25, 2023, is poised to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of agriculture and fisheries in the country.
The PSA is employing a multi-pronged approach to ensure comprehensive coverage of the survey. This includes engaging with local government units, agricultural and fisheries organizations, and communities to encourage participation and accurate reporting.
