The Book of Esther feels like an actual movie, noh?
Every chapter has a plot twist. And the craziest part is that God is never directly mentioned, yet His presence and His hand can be seen throughout the entire story.
Look closely at Esther, Mordecai, Haman, and even the king. Every event seemed to happen at just the right time. What appeared to be ordinary circumstances were actually pieces of a much bigger plan.
In Esther 5, we see Esther do something incredibly brave.
She went before the king even though she knew that approaching him without being summoned could cost her life.
She didn't know what would happen.
She didn't know how the king would respond.
But she stepped forward anyway.
Why?
Because she understood that perhaps God had placed her in that position for a purpose.
And then came the plot twist.
Instead of rejecting her, the king extended the golden scepter and showed her favor.
Think about it.
One decision.
One moment.
One response from the king.
Everything could have changed.
But Esther's favor wasn't simply luck.
THE HAND OF GOD WAS MOVING.
Then came Haman.
And honestly, his pride was LOUD.
He had wealth.
He had power.
He had position.
He had recognition.
He was even personally invited to a banquet with the king and queen.
By all appearances, Haman had plenty of reasons to be happy.
But the moment he saw Mordecai refusing to bow to him, suddenly, all of those blessings became insignificant.
Esther 5:13 shows just how deeply Mordecai's actions affected him.
And this is where we see the danger of pride.
Pride can make you so focused on the one thing you don't have—or the one thing that doesn't go your way—that you completely forget everything God has already given you.
Haman had so much, yet one person refusing to honor him was enough to steal his joy.
Because of his anger and pride, he decided to prepare a high gallows for Mordecai.
He thought he was preparing Mordecai's downfall.
He thought he was in control.
But what Haman didn't know was that while he was preparing a place for Mordecai's destruction, God was already preparing the beginning of Haman's downfall.
GRAAAABE.
That's what makes the story of Esther so powerful.
While Haman was making plans, God was already making a way.
While Haman thought everything was going according to his plan, God was already moving behind the scenes.
While Mordecai couldn't see how the situation would turn around, God had not forgotten him.
And honestly, isn't that how our lives can feel sometimes?
We pray, but we don't immediately see an answer.
We wait, but nothing seems to change.
We look at our situation and wonder, “God, where are You?”
Sometimes, it even looks like the wrong people are winning.
But Esther reminds us of something we desperately need to remember:
God's silence does not mean God's absence.
Just because you can't see Him doesn't mean He isn't working.
Sometimes, God is quietly:
Positioning the right people.
Closing the wrong doors.
Protecting you from things you don't even know about.
Preparing opportunities you haven't seen yet.
And arranging circumstances according to His purpose.
We often become frustrated because we can only see one chapter of our lives.
But God sees the entire story.
Esther didn't know how everything would unfold when she approached the king.
Mordecai didn't know how God would turn everything around.
And Haman definitely didn't know that his own pride would eventually contribute to his downfall.
So if you're currently in a season where God feels silent, don't assume that nothing is happening.
You may not see the answer yet.
You may not understand the delay.
You may not know why certain things are happening.
But that doesn't mean God has stopped working.
God is not absent.
God is not late.
God is not finished.
Maybe He's arranging something you haven't noticed yet.
Maybe He's preparing an answer you haven't received yet.
Maybe He's writing a plot twist you never expected.
So keep praying.
Keep trusting.
Keep doing what is right.
And when you don't understand the process, trust the God who already knows the ending.
Because the same God who was working quietly behind the scenes in Esther's story is the same God who can work quietly behind the scenes in our lives today.
When God seems silent, trust His hands.
Because even when you cannot see Him moving—
