As Odiongan celebrated its 178th Founding Anniversary, Mayor Trina Firmalo-Fabic expressed gratitude to her constituents, marking her final fiesta as municipal mayor after serving three consecutive terms.
Fabic highlighted the remarkable progress Odiongan has achieved under her leadership, particularly its recent upgrade to first-class municipality status on January 1, 2025—the only town in Romblon to attain such recognition.
During her speech on Binibining Odiongan 2025, Fabic said that this milestone reflects the economic growth the municipality has sustained over the years, with registered businesses more than doubling and Odiongan consistently ranking among MIMAROPA’s top three most competitive municipalities for the past seven years.
Fabic also shared that her administration also championed governance reforms and social welfare programs, making Odiongan one of the few municipalities in the region with a Persons with Disability Affairs Office.
She also led the establishment of the Public Information Office and Internal Audit Office, reinforcing transparency and accountability in local governance. Additionally, Odiongan gained regional recognition for its outstanding nutrition programs and was awarded multiple times for good governance practices.
Reflecting on the town’s journey, Fabic emphasized the resilience and unity of Odionganons, attributing the town’s current strength and prosperity to the sacrifices of its predecessors.
As she completes her third and final term as mayor, she reassured the people of Odiongan of her continued support beyond public office.
