Business owners in Odiongan can now secure their permits within a single day, following the municipality’s full adoption of the Department of Information and Communications Technology’s (DICT) Electronic Local Government Unit (eLGU) system.
Launched in December 2024, the eLGU system streamlines the processing of permits and other government transactions, making Odiongan the first municipality in MIMAROPA to implement this digital innovation.
The system significantly reduces paperwork and in-person visits by allowing applicants to complete the process online, from submission to payment and issuance.
To ensure accessibility for all residents, the municipal hall has set up an information desk with free-to-use tablets and computers to assist those unfamiliar with online transactions. The system currently facilitates transactions with the Business Permits and Licensing Office, Local Civil Registrar, and Treasurer’s Office, with more services expected to be integrated in the future.
