The Provincial Health Office (PHO) of Romblon has achieved the second-highest flu vaccine utilization rate in the MIMAROPA region, reaching 107.28%. This places Romblon just behind Puerto Princesa City, which recorded a 109% utilization rate.
In a press release, PHO Romblon highlighted that the successful flu vaccination drive was conducted in coordination with all health facilities across the province, including rural health centers. The vaccination campaign, which began in January 2025, aimed to administer flu vaccines to various offices and institutions throughout Romblon.
They added that the initiative aligns with the health priorities of Governor Otik Riano and the Department of Health (DOH), emphasizing health promotion and preventive care for all Romblomanons. To ensure accessibility, flu vaccines have been allocated to all 17 health centers in the province, allowing residents to easily avail themselves of the vaccine.
The flu vaccination drive seeks to prevent influenza or trangkaso among residents, reducing the risk of illness and alleviating additional healthcare costs associated with treating the infection.
