The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Romblon District Engineering Office (DEO) has improved the Looc Feeder Port with the completion of a new causeway project.
Previously, the Looc Feeder Port was too narrow and congested to efficiently handle the influx of tourists and pump boat passengers from San Jose, Romblon, and Caticlan, Malay, Aklan. Additionally, the port served as a docking point for fishing boats unloading their catch for market distribution.
According to Romblon District Engineer Elena M. Castilan, the newly completed 135-linear meter causeway includes solar LED street lights, enhancing both safety and security in the area.
Reported to DPWH MIMAROPA Regional Director Gerald A. Pacanan, CESO III, the project now provides a more accommodating facility for passengers and fishermen alike.
