The Odiongan Municipal Council has unanimously approved the annual budget for the Municipality of Odiongan for the year 2024, totaling P252 million.
It was approved during the council’s 45th regular session held on November 6.
According to Odiongan Vice Mayor Diven Dimaala, the early approval of the budget allows the executive department to make early preparations for the implementation of the annual investment programs.
The executive department has allocated funds for several infrastructure improvements in the municipality for the upcoming year. These projects include the continuing construction of the Odiongan Government Center in Barangay Dapawan.
The 2024 annual budget also includes funds for the 5th tranche of salary increases for employees of the local government unit (LGU), in compliance with the Salary Standardization Law.
This salary increase is timely, aiming to compensate government employees for their hard work throughout the year.
“We received several awards this year, including the Seal of Good Local Governance from the Department of the Interior and Local Government, all of which are the results of our LGU employees’ dedication and hard work,” Dimaala stated.
Next year’s budget is P7 million much higher compared to the current year’s budget. It is expected to increase more on the coming years.
