In a proactive move to stay at the forefront of technological progress, Engr. Jerome Gacu, Director of the Research, Development, and Innovation (RDI) Office at Romblon State University, has urged both faculty members and students to seize the opportunities presented by artificial intelligence (AI).
Speaking during his guesting on Kapihan sa PIA Romblon on August 31, Gacu highlighted the growing importance of AI across various sectors and industries.
He emphasized the significance of integrating AI concepts and tools into research and innovation endeavors.
“AI is trending in various domains, not just in technology but also in forecasting floods, typhoons, and more. We are encouraging faculty members and students [to use it]. In our office, we personally support the use of this technology, as it’s the direction we are headed in,” Gacu stated.
He also announced upcoming seminars for students where they will be taught how to utilize AI in their research projects.
“We do not restrict ourselves to existing technology; rather, we want to catch up with it. Because RSU has been lagging behind in terms of technology,” he added.
Furthermore, Gacu emphasized that AI has the potential to empower educators in tailoring teaching methods and content to match individual learning styles, thereby fostering more personalized and effective learning experiences.
