Tarabidan sa Palawan 2022 Dagyaw Town Hall Meeting is finally back face-to-face tomorrow, November 29 at City Coliseum, Puerto Princesa City, Palawan after two years of virtual holding due to the pandemic.
Dagyaw is a Hiligaynon term for “Bayanihan” which brings the concept of “togetherness” which is translated to a Cuyonon dialect, thus “Tarabidan”.
This town hall meeting aims in building mutual trust between the government and the people by providing an open, neutral, and protected space for dialogue on national and local issues among government and non-government stakeholders.
The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) MIMAROPA and other partner agencies will spearhead the event with the goal of providing possible solution in frequent brownouts in the region and the potential benefits from renewable energy.
Representatives from National Electrification Administration (NEA), National Power Corporation (NAPOCOR), and Palawan Electric Cooperative (PALECO) will talk about the cause of ‘shortage’ of energy supply in Mimaropa.
Meanwhile, two representatives from the CSO sector– Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Soroptimist International Palawan will be asked to give reactions to the panelists in the forum.
In the Town Hall Meeting, citizens can ask questions from the government and provide feedback on public programs and services. Likewise, government agencies may promote and explain government initiatives.
About 300 participants are expected to join on-site while the general public can also join virtually through the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) MIMAROPA Facebook page, DILG MIMAROPA and other government partner agencies. (GATS/PIA MIMAROPA)
