Nanawagan ng #NoToMining ang mga residente ng Sibuyan Island, Romblon kasunod ng anunsyo ng Altai Philippines Mining Corporation (APMC) na magpapatawag sila ng meeting bukas, May 27, sa Public Auditorium ng San Fernando, Romblon.
Ayon kasi sa APMC, ang nasabing pagpupulong ay para sa Information Education and Communiciation (IEC) nila para sa proposal nilang nickel project sa Barangay España at Taclobo.
“The purpose of this IEC is to inform the affected LGUs and stakeholders about the project, and to assit those preparing Environmental Impact Study (EIS) and the proponent in identifying all concerned stakeholders who should be invited to the next steps of the IES process, which is the public scoping,” ayon sa imbetasyon ng AMPC.
Ayon sa mga residente ng isla:
“No to Mining. Protektahan ang kalikasaya. Wag niyo sisirain ang Sibuyan,” pahayag ni Enoy Moral dela Cruz.
“#PreserveFloraandFauna #NotoMininginSibuyanIsland,” ayon naman kay Jonas dela Cruza Rodelas.
“Kahit ano pa sabihin niyo na benefits niyang mina, No to Mining kami! Lumayas kayo diri sa Sibuyan,” pahayag naman ni Flosy Fabila Romero.
