Fully-vaccinated healthcare workers can start receiving booster shots against COVID-19 this week, the Department of Health (DOH) said Monday night, Nov. 15.
“All fully-vaccinated healthcare workers may avail of booster doses starting 17 November 2021 (Wednesday),” the health department said in an advisory posted on its official Facebook page.
The agency added that it is recommending using booster doses based on the emergency use authorization (EUA) issued by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
Healthcare workers may use either Moderna, Pfizer, and Sinovac as booster doses “regardless of the brand used for the primary series.”
“Sinovac will also be offered as a booster for those that had Sinovac as a primary series,” the DOH said.
Guidelines on this development, the DOH added, will be released today. It will be issued by the National Vaccine Operations Center (NVOC). (PIA-NCR)
